We’re back with some new ideas to deconstruct and get a fresh look from our range. Feedback from our first ‘how to’ went well so we’re back with part two of skate park inspired takes on classic garments.
We’re sticking to the black look and giving our signature hoodie the make over it’s been screaming out for. A cropped hoodie is incredibly on trend right now and very stylish option with a street edge.
What you will need:
- Saikou Hoodie
- Measuring tape
Lay your hoodie flat on a large surface. Using a tape measure, measure a few centimetres down from the underarms to your desired length. Mark with chalk.
Join the chalk marks using a ruler.
Cut on the chalk lines.
If you’re after a neater finish, you will need to create a hem using a sewing machine.
Fold 1cm around the hem and fold 1cm again to create a double fold hem. Pin the folded hem.
Sew 1cm hem and you’re done!
Here’s a little freebie for all you enthusiasts out there
Get a Saikou Bobble hat and place both index and middle finger near the bobble with your thumbs on the inside of the hat.
Apply gentle pressure until hat is completely invert
Locate white thread on hat interior; it should be very close to the central seam.
After asking a parent or guardian for permission, use scissors to bisect this thread.
Congratulations! You have successfully de bobbled your hat. Enjoy the striking new silhouette you now cast.
Hopefully you are enjoying these tutorials on adding some attitude to some seemingly straight forward garments. We want to be doing more of these so let us know what you think so far.
